Fall has truly arrived today. The leaves are transitioning, the air is brisk, and the first freeze will blanket my garden tonight. Naturally, it was the final harvest. The reaper has come and now is the time for rest.

Sometimes it's good to take a break and get inspired for the next art project. Books are often times that escape and inspiration for me. Right now I'm reading The Sirens by Emilia Hart and it's heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. This is a picture I took from the planter on my balcony and the imagery evokes the words and vibes of the book perfectly. PG. 121 "[your skin] It reminds me of something, the color... that pinkish blue, the way it looks silver in the light. It's like the inside of a shell." But the inside of a shell is beautiful, I wanted to say.

Here's where I'm at with my sweater embroidery. I think it's turning out better than expected, even before I go back to add single threads to blend the color gradient. I also went to the Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival for the first time. I got two beautiful roving blends to practice drop spinning with and a green spun wool to patch a pair of my husband's favorite pants.

This is where I'll post progress updates, moth-raising notes, and anything else that's capturing my imagination at the moment. At any given time, you may discover what I'm currently creating, reading, watching, mending, gardening, playing, or wearing.

Today is the autumn equinox and September is Hispanic Heritage Month. With that in mind, I picked my current embroidery project: The San Francisco Giants hoodie that I bought this spring. While searching for a souvenir, the City Connect Jersey colors really caught my eye. However, there was no Gigantes merch with those colors. That's a huge perk of knowing how to sew and embellish fabric; I can customize my clothes to make them uniquely mine.
